Marketplace Partner Agreement

The foundation for a successful partnership

Our goal is to establish a solid foundation for our joint partnership with these contractual agreements, creating a clear win-win-win situation for customers, partners, and bexio.

The Marketplace partnership is built on two essential pillars:

  1. Technical: We provide our Public API, enabling you to seamlessly integrate your solution into bexio. OpenID Connect (OIDC) serves not only as an important security feature but also as a trust-building factor and a sales-boosting element. OIDC allows for quick and easy onboarding of interested customers, enhancing the appeal of your solution.
  2. Commercial: Purchasing a solution through the bexio Marketplace should be simpler, more efficient, and/or more cost-effective for our customers – providing a clear advantage over other sales channels.

With these contractual agreements, we are jointly laying the foundation for a long-term and successful collaboration.

Marketplace T&C

Marketplace Partner Agreement

General

Why do I need a Marketplace Partner Agreement? Can I simply book advertising with bexio instead?

By signing the Partner Agreement, you gain access to the bexio Marketplace. There, you can offer products and services directly to end customers and benefit from joint promotional activities.

Services

What content do I need to provide for listing my offerings?

To provide users with a consistent experience and make partner offerings on the Marketplace easily comparable, we require the same content from all partners. This includes descriptive texts, supporting visual materials in all four languages, and optionally a video provided as a YouTube link.

Why does my listing need to support four languages?

All partner listings are published in German, French, Italian, and English, as the bexio software is available in these languages. However, the partner offerings themselves do not need to be provided in all four languages. Each listing will include a note indicating the languages in which the offering is available or unavailable.

Can bexio support me in creating the texts?

No one can describe your solution or offering better than you. Therefore, we do not provide text creation or editing services. However, your dedicated partner manager will support you with valuable insights into the bexio customer base and their needs, helping you optimize your texts effectively.

The texts you provide serve as the sole foundation for our teams (Marketing, Sales, etc.) to present your offerings in customer interactions as authentically and accurately as possible.

What support services must I provide as a partner for our shared end customers?

As a partner, you are required to provide direct support to your end customers for your solution. This includes answering questions about functionality, assisting with usage, and resolving technical issues. It is your responsibility to ensure that your customers receive prompt and competent assistance with their concerns.

bexio does not offer direct support for partner solutions but instead refers customers with questions or issues to you as the provider. Therefore, we recommend establishing clear contact channels and response times to ensure the best possible service for your end customers.

Invoicing and Service Fee

What does the partnership cost me (per year)?

The partnership with bexio does not involve any annual fees, membership dues, or listing costs. Instead, we charge a service fee of 25% on the revenue generated with shared bexio users.

How is the service fee calculated, and what is the amount?

The service fee is calculated based on shared users. Shared users are defined as customers who use both bexio and your solution.

This model ensures that costs are only incurred when actual success is achieved, preventing either party from bearing initial or fixed costs.

Are there other billing models besides this service fee?

No, we currently do not offer alternative billing models. This ensures equal conditions and opportunities for all Marketplace partners.

What happens if I bring existing customers? Are they also subject to the service fee?

If you bring existing customers, we are, of course, delighted that they use your solution. Existing customers who also use bexio are considered shared bexio users and are therefore included in the service fee. This model ensures fair conditions for all partners on the Marketplace.

Additionally, you have the opportunity to benefit from a reduced service fee: If you rank among the top 20% revenue-generating partners on the bexio Marketplace, the fee will decrease from 25% to 20%.

What does the assignment of claims (cession) mean for me? Why is it important for bexio?

The assignment of claims (cession) means that you grant bexio the right to collect all payments for your solution directly from all bexio customers. Customers who use your solution independently of bexio will continue to pay you directly.

This model offers you the advantage of having bexio handle the entire payment process, so you don’t need to manage payment processing yourself.

At the same time, shared bexio customers benefit from a simplified and familiar onboarding process as well as improved user experience — factors that can positively impact sales volume.

Why am I required to maintain price parity across other sales channels?

The obligation to maintain price parity ensures that bexio customers always receive the same conditions as on other sales channels. This promotes fairness and transparency for customers and strengthens their trust in the bexio Marketplace and the solutions offered on it.

Additionally, this rule guarantees a consistent and competitive pricing level, benefiting all partners on the Marketplace.

Technical Integration

What does it mean for me if I cannot connect my solution via the API?

Solutions that enable seamless data exchange via the bexio API provide significantly higher value to customers and, as experience shows, are purchased and used more frequently.

If your solution cannot be connected via the API, it means that certain automated processes, such as data exchange or integrations with bexio, will not be directly possible. In this case, the calculation of revenue generated and the corresponding service fee must be provided by the partner.

We highly recommend exploring the possibilities of a future API integration to fully leverage the potential of the Marketplace.

Why is it necessary to connect my solutiuon to bexio’s OpenID Connect (OIDC)?

Connecting your software to bexio’s OpenID Connect (OIDC) is required to ensure secure and consistent authentication for all bexio customers. This protocol allows users to log in to your solution using their existing bexio credentials, eliminating the need to create separate accounts.

This not only enhances user experience and lowers entry barriers but also ensures seamless integration into the bexio environment. Additionally, it safeguards sensitive customer data and ensures compliance with the latest security standards.

What does it mean for me if I cannot connect my solution via OpenID Connect (OIDC) from bexio?

If your solution cannot be connected via OpenID Connect (OIDC) from bexio, customers will need to create and manage separate accounts, which can reduce user-friendliness and create a higher entry barrier.

Additionally, the lack of seamless integration into the bexio environment may diminish the appeal of your solution for bexio customers. We therefore recommend considering the implementation of OpenID Connect (OIDC) to enhance convenience and security for your users and fully leverage the potential of collaborating with bexio.
